World Maitreya Great Tao is an organization that strives to contribute to world peace and harmony by ways of loving nature.  In doing so, we share the vow of Maitreya, which is to make an earthbound Pureland.  Organizations have been established worldwide to promote loving nature and self-improvement through inner change.  We practices universal joy, genuine respect for all people and love for nature.  Through these practices, many members experience a vast inner transformation and their life changes with a new perspective on life.  When all people live by their conscience, harmony and peace reveals itself.

The concept of Maitreya is in many folds. It is Xian Tian, the means before creation, the manifestation of compassion, conscience, and altruism, and the embodiment of absolute bliss, harmony, and unity. The essence of Maitreya is the intrinsic love and compassion within the purest of heart. Everyone is blessed with this divine nature. Maitreya serves as guiding beacon for the cultivation of compassion and is the altruistic spirit in people's hearts. It is the spirit dedicated to shaping the world into a one world family, where all people, religions, and nations are one.

Essentially, faith in compassion is faith in Maitreya. It is the cultivation of conscience, the practice of selflessness and the act of giving in daily life. When everyone awakens to their conscience, then benevolence and loving-kindness pervades, as altruism becomes a natural state of being. Compassion is the source of all virtue, goodness, and selfless concerns.

When there is compassion in daily interactions, at the workplace, with people and things; when actions are constructive to the community and environment; when there is love between family and friends; when there is care for the well-being of natural world and other living beings, this is being compassionate and altruistic. Engaging life in such a manner is the path to happiness and joy. When people live with compassion, world harmony and universal happiness come to fruition.

The World Maitreya Great Tao Organization has branch temples in more than sixty countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, France, Austria, Sweden, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, India, and Madagascar. Ching Ter Maitreya Buddha Temple in Columbus, Ohio, is one of these branch temples.
