Maitreya - The name Maitreya is
derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Maitri’, meaning
loving-kindness. Buddha is one who is awakened,
who has achieved complete enlightenment. Other
names of Buddha Maitreya are Happy Buddha,
Laughing Buddha and Lucky Buddha.
